Indigenous Youth Participatory Action Project Opportunity for SAMHSA Region 8 & 9 Community Partners

To our community partners, we reaching out to share a youth participatory action project for Indigenous youth, which will inform the development of a youth-created event, designed by and for Indigenous youth.

Throughout the fall, The YouthScan Project (a program of YouthRoots) in partnership with SAMHSA Region 8 & 9, will be facilitating virtual workshops in which youth share insights on issues affecting youth lives, and ideas for positive impact. Youth insight shared during the workshop about issues that matter most to the community will inform a youth-led event, which workshop participants will be invited to attend!

All Indigenous youths, ages 14-24, are invited to share their voices. All participants will receive a $50 gift card. There are multiple time options to accommodate schedules. Options can be found in the sign-up form: https://tinyurl.com/SAMHSAWorkshop

The Youthscan project The YouthScan Project is a digital initiative that puts youth voices front and center in the decisions that impact their lives. How? Youth participate in an interactive trauma-informed workshop where they brainstorm issues affecting youth, and strategies for positive impact. Participants login to the anonymous YouthScan Project Portal and submit issues they care about and their strategies they care about. What's next? Youth insight populates an interactive dashboard featuring verbatim input from young people!
